White Wednesday

A few of my favorite white things . . .

White Roses . . .

Horses. . . (not a huge fan of snow although I do enjoy looking at it)

And last but not least this white photo with just little pink, red and yellow my granddaughter well there is a little more red than a little. (She gets the hair from my daughter in law. Yes there is hair and it is red. It might possibly be from the water!)
Thanks for visiting today. Happy White Wednesday! If you have time before you visit the other White Wednesday posts. Go over here for my Wordfilled Wednesday post.

2nd Time Around Tuesday

Welcome to 2nd Time Around Tuesday hosted by Diane I love this Tuesday meme because I love to repurpose things. Here's one of my favorites.

Sorry the first photo is a blurry. This item sits on our dresser next to the bed and I couldn't get far enough away for a good shot. I bet your trying to figure out what it is. Below is a better photo showing how I have repurposed it.

It is from an old wagon. I think it sat in front of the seat to hold tools at least that is what I whas told. Now I use it to hold my Cowboy and horse books. Sitting on top but a little hard to see is a wooden book holder my Cowboy made in wood shop in school. And next to it is a bronze.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing my 2nd Time Around repurposed book holder.
BTW before you leave you might want to go to my other blog here and read my current book review.

Happy Homemaker Monday and Mosaic Monday

This is my favorite photo from last week .....I can't seem to get blogger to let me move it.
Below is my Mosaic Monday entry and My Happy Homemaker entry....Thanks for visiting

A few of my favorite photo's of a few of my favorite things .. crowns (daughter of the King), my kitchen window with tomatoe's from my garden, roses, my white rockers, a lovely photo I borrowed from someone else, my napkins and cowboy hat napkin rings, white roses in my bedroom.
You can visit Mary for more Monday Mosaic's.

hhm

The weather in my neck of the woods: Blessedly cool right now but not to last. It will be hot and no hope of rain. pout

One of my simple pleasures: Seeing flowers growing in the bed I just put in outside my kitchen window

On my bedside table: Don't ask (if your curious read my last few HH posts)

On my TV: Cowboy is home laying on loveseat with remote in hand...so that means 2 minutes per station.

On the menu for tonight: I have no idea. Baby sitting all day. I'll have to be thinking about it. Our freezer is getting close to empty.

On my To Do List: We rented a storage building while we re-arrange the furniture and move sewing room to a different room so I will be busy sorting and storing. And then I'll have a new room!

New Recipe I tried last week: Nothing new really but I did try putting things in the crockpot that I normally wouldn't. I love my crockpot.

In my craft basket: Christmas is around the corner. I am doing an embroidery quilt for my grandson. And making felt ornaments for each baby.

Looking forward to: Fall

Homemaking Tip for this week: Sandra and I are thinking washing dishes. My tip is if you have just a few dishes from dinner or lunch. Go ahead and wash and put away. It is easier to put away a few than waiting for full load in the dishwasher and putting away a lot at one time.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other): I always want to do this and
I figured out I need to write down the link when I find it then loose the piece of paper I wrote it on. Adding to my to do list: Getting organized. But I really loved my Wordfilled Wednesday post. You can see it here.

Favorite photo from last week:

Photo at top of post.

Lesson learned the past few days: Reminded of reinforced. That waiting and having faith in God. That if I trust him and ask him about each step he will be faithful to me as I am faithful to him. I tend to get ahead of God's plans. I need to give him control.

On my Prayer List: All the girls in the halfway house but especially Misty. My family

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry... Psalms 34:15

White Wednesday

Welcome to White Wednesday hosted by Faded Charm....one of my favorite days of the week. I love to decorate with white. Today I am sharing with you the white corner of my bedroom.

Here's a shot of an old chippy white chest of drawers. It was originally a soft grey it was pretty but not white. LOL. On top is an old wooden breadbowl (I think) filled with chunky white candels. A small cross lays atop a little white napkin. I thought it was pretty. And in the back corner is something I bought at Hobby Lobby I think here's a closer look.

I love flowers. I love multicolor roses. These were from a mixed bouguet not really enough for the container but I wanted them to display here.
I love this part of the room. Actually I love the entire room but the rest of it is definately not white. And not really romantic. Someday I'll have to share some photo's.
Thanks for visiting my White Wednesday post. But before you run off go by my other blog and enter my Gift A Way. (this is the link to the original post. You can leave a comment there) I know you'll enjoy it. Here's a link that will take you to the current day. The Gift A Way is going through the end of the month and you can enter as many times as you want. So come by everyday to see me. Good luck!

2nd Time Around Tuesday

Welcome to what it says above...I am just in a silly happy mood this morning so Diane I hope you don't take that as sarcastic!
I am joining Diane to share some treasures with you. 2nd Time around is for treasures you find anywhere I think. 2nd hand stores, Goodwill, garage sales on the curb.
Or, where I find most of mine my mothers house or my daughters house. So join me for a virtual tour of treasures that my relatives discard.

First is something from my daughters.

I don't remember exactly what this is called something like a sugar mold or something. She purchased it with the stand and candles in Canton the biggest trade day/flea market in Texas. I think at least it used to be. I haven't been in years.

Anyway she bought it paid way too much and left it at my house when she got married. Her loss is my gain I say. The candles made to fit the mold are too expensive for me so I saved the last three orignals and I just drop a tea light or other small candle on top. It works for me (oh I am thinking of another meme to join!) Sorry it is a little dirty looking I didn't realize there were bits of candle from digging out the last ones. Please forgive!

Next is something I retrieved from my mothers house. Now I have to say I must make a correction above I said I was sharing things they discarded. Correction! My mother never, never, never discards anything. I begged, and begged and begged for this item. Take a look and then I'll share it's little story.

You can probably tell it was originally a set of canisters or cookie jars. They sat on a shelf in my mothers kitchen most of the time I was growing up. I duested them weekly as was my job. I wished they were filled with cookies. They never were. She had one jar she used as a cookie jar and still to this day uses it. Theses lovely's sat and sat and sat till I begged her to give them to me. I finally got them when my kids were in Elementary school. They sat on my counter filled with cookies or chips or snacks. They were perfect I could put a few things in them and my hunger boy could eat what was there and not eat an entire sack of chips. Once they were gone they were gone till I decided to refill.

I know now your thinking my gosh this woman rationed her child's food! Call the authorities. Before you do you can let them know I rationed milk too! But in my defense from the time the boy was 14 on he could drink an entire gallon of milk in about 15 minutes and want more!

At 30 he still does it and my daughter in law rations so there is milk for the kids!

Well now the cannister as you can tell has retired from the kitchen. It is part of my sewing room filled with buttons. Which like my mother I never, never, never use. (at least not very often)

I hope you enjoyed my 2nd time treasures. And if your not into garage sales etc. go check out your mom's I can vouch begging works!

You know before you leave you might be interested to know that I am having a Gift A Way over here go over and check it out and come back and let me know if you entered! And don't forget to come back here tomorrow for White Wednesday.

Happy Homemaker Monday

One of my favorite blog homes to visit is Sandra's there you can find Happy Homemaker Monday.

The weather in my neck of the woods: Back to the 3 digits. No rain today. Bummer.

One of my simple pleasures: My daughters church. I don't get to go often but we went yesterday. I am always Blessed, refreshed, encouraged and I learn a lot there.

On my bedside table: Well not on my table but what I am reading. Too Small To Ignore by Dr. Wess Stafford President Compassion International. I highly recommend. I'll be writing a review here

On my TV: Nothing yet.

On the menu for tonight: Salad we are on a diet. Say a prayer for me.

On my To Do List: Too many things to list but I'll try:
Finish re-organizing the house. Got those shelves I have been wanting so moving more stuff around, lots of picture taking, working in the garden, prayer for ministry. More work on my Gift a Way at my other blog. And post on Pink Saturday.

New Recipe I tried last week: Nothing new but I am trying Iron Skillet Meat Loaf this week.

In the craft basket: Still nothing and I am in withdrawal....I am a broken record. The same thing as last week. I have got to get my sewing room back in order! I need to get a baby quilt done and start on Christmas.

Looking forward to: Getting the sewing room usable again.

Homemaking Tip for this week: So simple it hurts. Hang or fold clothes right out of the dryer and put away. That is the key put them away immediately. And you won't have piles like I do right now. Guess I need to add that to my list.

Favorite photo from last week:

Lesson learned the past few days: I was reminded of this yesterday at my daughters church.
Church is a Happy place.

On my Prayer List: I have an answered prayer. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned the girls at the halfway house not all getting to go to church. We have been praying about being able to do a service at the house. This past week we found a pastor that is ready and willing to do it and bring music. Praise the Lord.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Zephaniah 3:15 The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

My prayer for you today is that God will quiet you with his love and that you will feel his love.
I posted a Mosaic Monday here today too come on over and visit.

I love white. White furniture, white flowers, white quilts I didn't realize it till recently. Possibly because I found the most amazing place for inspiration. And to share my favorite white things.

So welcome to my White Wednesday post hosted by Faded Charm.

I have a few favorite white pieces...

Yesterday I posted this for Metamphis Monday. I didn't mention my favorite part of the display. I love drippy white candels.
And below is part of something I have been working on and it is white so I wanted to
share it with you too today.

I have a few more photo's like this that I am collecting. So you will have to come back soon too see what I am going to do with them.
I posted over here today too you might enjoy stopping over.
Have a Blessed Day

2nd Time Around Table

I am joining Diane again to share some of my treasures that have been bought at a garage sale, or given to you. I am adding used before and repurposed.

I love this little table. It started out at Bombay and Company stained brown. We brought it home for my daughters 'grown up' girl room. She was probably about 16.
Latter we changed her room again and painted everything white. We really didn't know a lot about it but this is how it turned out. It could use another coat of paint but I wanted you to be able to see it in it's little undressed state. One of those items she left when she moved out when she got married. My gain I think.

Here it is all dressed up.

I love drippy white candles. I love white and clear glass. These are just cheap Walmart or Dollar General candle holders. But they work perfect her in my romantic bathroom.

The room isn't complete yet. I still have to work on the window dressing and the shower curtin. But it is coming together.

Thanks for visiting. I'll invite you back when it is completely finished for a Spa Retreat.
Oh before I go I found a fun blog and there is a give a way. You still have time to enter. Go over to Barb's.
Have a Blessed Week.

Happy Homemaker and Monday Mosaic

Monday Mosaic

Thanks for coming by. Sandra hosts Happy Homemaker Monday over at Family Corner...stop over there after you visit here awhile.

The weather in my neck of the woods:
HOT, HOT, HOT Yes...I copied Sandra but she said it so well!

One of my simple pleasures:
A quiet evening alone with no one else in the house, a glass of wine and a lifetime movie or chick flick.

On my bedside table:
Do I have to answer this again. If you have stopped in over the last coe couple of weeks the answer is the same. Please don't make me speak those words again. It depresses me that I haven't finished that project.

On my TV:
Christian c.d. package on our cable. "All Along" by Remedy Drive.

On the menu for tonight:
I don't know. Bottom lip sticking out! I didn't get to grill over the weekend. And I am keeping the baby till 7 that is why this post is late. So I have no idea what
I'll through together once he is gone.

On my To Do List:
Tonight I am going to try to move some more furniture around to finish the sewing room redo, maybe some sewing I want to make curtins for a couple shelfs and my desk. The week is busy: babysitting tommorrow, food bank Wednesday the deliver food, Thursday and Friday a leadership conference (we got scholarships how cool is that?) Saturday othing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll play all day digging in the dirt and Sunday church

New Recipe I tried last week:
I made my own creamed style corn and it was excellant. I took a can of white corn mashed it with a potato masher added some milk and butter and salt and pepper. It was really good.

In the craft basket:
Not yet but hopefully those curtins

Looking forward to:
The weekend

Homemaking Tip for this week:
Mass cooking. I used to do Once a month cooking. But now I do it once a week. I think no a days people probably don't shop monthly much anymore. But if you cook up a couple pounds of hamburger and roast a chicken then you have 3-4 meals already almost prepared.
And, watch the new show scheduled for next week on food network. Did you see the finally of The Next Star? She is from Keller, Texas. I can't wait to see the show.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Esther Rose's post you can read it here

Favorite photo from last week:

I know I showed it at the top of the post but I wanted to explain it. These are photo's of some of my favorite things that I wrote about in Kelli's Show and Tell on my other blog.

Lesson learned the past few days:I am still working on learning patience. But I am learning how to cope and rest in God's assurance.

On my Prayer List:
One special girl in our halfway house her name is Misty and she is 18 she has no one to go once she is finished at the halfway house. I am praying for a miracle in her life.
My family

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Yesterday the message was about Tuning up the volume. Not letting the world drown out Christ.
